Recognized as one of the leading groups of marine and coastal ecosystem scientists on the Pacific coast, we provide our clients with experienced field teams, including diving scientists, for impact assessment, monitoring programs and resource inventories. We have also conducted resource inventories of terrestrial ecosystems that have included mapping of different habitats and protected species for GIS analysis. Most resource assessments are conducted to comply with regulatory requirements for impact assessment or monitoring. Tenera staff scientists are recognized experts in the design and analysis of these studies and have helped organize and present workshops on these topics at scientific meetings, regulatory workshops, and in testimony at formal hearings. Tenera has collaborated with academic and agency scientists on developing approaches for assessing the effects of power plant cooling water intake systems on fish populations that have become the standard for these studies in California (see California Energy Commission Report CEC-700-2007-010).
