TENERA has been involved with various aspects of field sampling, data analysis and report production related to the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound.  We conducted field studies to determine the nature of additional impacts on marine shoreline biological communities that resulted from the various beach treatments used in the clean-up efforts.  Our staff also participated in an initial damage assessment program to determine the effects of the oil spill on populations of shorebirds migrating through Prince William Sound.   We have also participated in an ongoing multidisciplinary study examining the potential effects of the Exxon Valdez oil spill on vertebrate predators in Prince William Sound.  Our experience with the large Exxon Valdez spill in Alaska has also been utilized on other projects.

Oil spill-related studies completed by TENERA Environmental include:
  • Impact Damage Assessment
  • Remediation Study Plan Review
  • NRDA Support
  • Cleanup Monitoring
  • Health and Safety Plans
