• This will be my last weather forecast. Goodbyes remind you of the things, you often take for granted, but the support from the community I have received over the years was certainly not one of them. I feel fortunate and blessed to have a job that makes saying farewell so difficult. My new email address is JohnLindseyLosOsos@gmail.com. Rea Strange, this one is for you. =========== PG&E DCPP Weather Forecast for Thursday 06/30/22 ======== SEA/SWELL: Today's 4- to 6-foot northwesterly (300-degree, deep-water) sea and swell (with a 5- to 8-second period) will remain at this level through Friday, increasing to 5- to 7-feet with the same period on Saturday into Sunday. This northwesterly (300-degree, deep-water) sea and swell will decrease to 3- to 5-feet (with a 5- to 8-second period) on Monday into Wednesday, increasing to 5- to 7-feet with the same period next Thursday and Friday. Arriving from the Southern Hemisphere: Today's 1-foot Southern Hemisphere (210-degree, deep-water) swell (with a 13- to 15-second period) will remain at this level through Sunday. ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS: Fresh to strong (19 to 31 mph) afternoon northwesterly winds will continue into Friday. This condition will continue to allow the marine layer to develop along the coastline and surge into the coastal valleys during the night and morning with areas of fog and pockets of drizzle. The northwesterly winds will increase to strong to gale- force (25 to 38 mph) levels during the afternoon on Saturday through Wednesday along the shoreline. This condition will produce mostly clear skies during the afternoon over the 4th of July weekend. Increasing high pressure will produce triple-digit temperatures in the North County and 80s in the coastal valleys late next week. The La Niña condition has kept the storm track to the north. The first six months of 2022 were the driest on record at Cal Poly since 1869. The San Luis Obispo university had recorded only 1.5 inches of rain as of today.
